I’m a husband, father, Veteran, and results-driven public servant who learned the value of service before self in the Air Force. That’s why I’m running for State Assembly.

I grew up in Palm Desert, and my family has been in the Coachella Valley for generations, so I understand the needs and dreams of our communities. I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to get ahead and to raise their family in a community that’s safe and affordable.

Our communities deserve a fighter in Sacramento who will put people ahead of politics and corporate special interests and deliver results for a change.”

—Lucas Piñon

Meet Lucas

Lucas Piñon is precisely the kind of public servant we all need and want. A husband, father, veteran, and results-driven public servant, Lucas lives his life by the Air Force credo he learned in the military: Service before Self.

With deep roots in the Coachella Valley and a real-life understanding of the challenges and aspirations we share, Lucas is running for State Assembly to make California safe and affordable, and to give everyone the opportunity to get ahead.

Born into a family of farmworkers and activists, Lucas was greatly influenced by his family’s strong foundation of public service. He grew up in Palm Desert and graduated from Palm Desert High School. Lucas was drawn to community service and public safety, motivating him to serve in the U.S. Air Force. He was later deployed to Afghanistan, where he conducted military police operations.

Two men stand outdoors in front of American flags on a sunny day. The man on the left wears sunglasses, a dark suit, and a blue shirt. The man on the right, dressed in a light blue firefighter uniform with a cap, sunglasses, and white gloves, holds a folder.

After his military service, Lucas interned for his member of Congress, researching important issues, including the impact of toxic burn pits on military service members. He later earned his degree at UCLA, while working on campus in the Veteran Resource Center. He then returned to the Coachella Valley to work as a Field Representative for Congressman Raul Ruiz, focusing on labor, public safety, and military affairs issues. He has extensive experience helping seniors, veterans, and families receive the health and financial benefits they rightly deserve.

Lucas now serves as Director of Special Projects for the Congressman. A proud husband and father, he lives in Palm Desert with his wife, Gloria, and their two children.
